Clare was with Titus, as a Trio, from the start, in 1980.She played Appalachian dulcimer, bowed psaltery, recorder and concertina, and also added many of the harmonies which gave the group their distinctive sound.She and Ian had started singing together at Manchester Polytechnic in the1970s,then in the group,Black Ram,with Nigel Hall(ex-Dunedain).Clare continued as a member of Triad,one of the resident groups at The Black Horse Folk Club at Telham, and the Hayloft, at Fairlight.She continued playing until two weeks before her very sad death from breast cancer,in June 2012.
